Week 3: Weblogging

Here we are, into the third week of the semester. This week, it's e-Learning for KMS. Which means, I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL!

NOT!
Well, not really. I just don't have to go to school for one day. Not the whole week. But e-Learning doesn't mean learning ceases! In fact, it literally means I come online for my lessons.

This week's topic is Weblogging. Something which I am doing now. Like duh.
A weblog, or simply a blog, is a website which contains periodic, reverse chronologically ordered posts on a common webpage. Such a web site would typically be accessible to any Internet user.

In this lecture, I learnt more about the anatomy of a blog, trackback, RSS, the characteristics of weblogs, weblogs in education, etc. Rather short lecture though. However, I was amazed there were so much to learn about blogs. Interestingly enriching.

Well, I guess that's all for this week. Gotta hurry along and finish up my forum discussion on weblogs.

Goodbye WORLD.

Start of KMS Module

Well, here I am, blogging on my first experience with KMS.What can I say. It's already the third year into my Poly education and it has been wonderful. One of the 5 modules I will be taking this semester is Knowledge Management System, KMS for short. Basically, I guess it will be smooth sailing for me so long as I attend lectures and attempt the tutorials.

For our first lecture, we were given an introduction to KMS. Basically, what KM is all about. We learnt about the drivers of KM (globalisation, digitalisation, knowledge-based economy), all of which contributes to the rapid change of KM.

KMS is the systematic process of finding, selecting, organizing, distilling and presenting information in a way that improves an employee's comprehension in a specific area of interest.

All in all, I had a fun and enriching lecture. It helped me gain insight into the world of KMS. Well, I hope this module is as fun as it seems! See ya!
